Chartered in 1948, Global FCU (“Global” or “the credit union” or “GFCU”) is a member owned Federal Credit Union headquartered in Anchorage, AK, and is a $13.0 billion asset institution. Currently, Global serves nearly 800,000 members and operates primarily in AK and WA, expanding into AZ, CA, ID, and on U.S. military bases in Italy. Global also has two wholly owned credit union service organizations (CUSOs) which include insurance brokerage and residential mortgage lending that provide a solid stream of non-spread revenue. Additionally, GFCU is a Low-Income Designated Credit Union whereby most of its members’ household incomes are 80% or less of the median income of the United States.
