U.S. Marketplace Consumer Loan ABS Index: July 2026
Monthly Overview
KBRA’s U.S. Marketplace Consumer Loan ABS Index showed mixed credit performance in July, with annualized net losses increasing 180 basis points (bps) month-over-month (MoM) and the 30+ day delinquency rate falling 33 bps MoM. Rather than reflecting a broad-based increase, the MoM rise in new losses was driven primarily by the ramp-up of charge-offs from certain transactions that are in their early stages of seasoning, as well as lower reported charge-offs in the prior month due to repurchases of charged-off loans made by an issuer from one of its transactions. Consistent with the index improving performance trend beginning in 2024, annualized net losses and the 30+ day delinquency rate declined 124 bps and 78 bps, respectively (see Figure 4 and Figure 5).
