Rating Summary
The long-term ratings for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL or the Airport) continue to reflect the Airport’s large and economically diverse air trade area; robust utilization, in part driven by an advantageous geographic location which supports Delta Air Lines’ (Delta) largest connecting hub operation; and strong financial performance, liquidity, and debt service coverage (DSC). The Airport also retains considerable debt capacity to accommodate the Airport’s planned future borrowing in support of the approved $13.1 billion capital improvement plan (CIP) known as “ATLNEXT”. The Atlanta Department of Aviation’s (the Department) experienced, highly capable leadership, which operates ATL on behalf of the City of Atlanta (the City), provides additional support for the rating. As of July 2026, ATL’s air carriers served 132 domestic destinations through an expansive 1,007 daily nonstop flights and 73 international destinations on 125 daily nonstop…
