CRB Group, Inc. (“CRB” or “the company”) is the bank holding company for lead subsidiary Cross River Bank (est. 2008) (“the bank”), headquartered in Fort Lee, NJ. The company’s operating strategy is centered around banking-as-a-service (BaaS), providing technological forward payments solutions and settlement services as well as partners with select third-party platforms to provide depository options.
CRB is a leader in the marketplace lending space (MPL), originating roughly $20 billion in consumer marketplace loans in 2023. CRB’s MPL business is a flow business model with the bulk of the loans sold through market securitizations (CRB had $2.2 billion in loans HFS at 4Q23, almost entirely consisting of MPL loans). However, CRB must hold-for-investment a percentage of MPL loans for risk retention purposes ($375 million at 4Q23).
