Formed in 2012 as a Delaware limited liability company that was converted to a Delaware corporation in 2013, Goldman Sachs BDC, Inc. (NYSE: “GSBD” or “the company”) is a publicly traded (March 2015), closed end externally managed business development company (“BDC”). GSBD has elected to be treated, and intends to qualify annually, as a regulated investment company (“RIC”) for tax purposes.
GSBD is externally managed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, L.P. (“Adviser” or “GSAM”), an affiliate of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE: GS). GS, a bank holding company, is a global investment banking and securities firm.
GSBD’s affiliate BDC, Goldman Sachs Private Credit Corp. (“GSCR”), is rated by KBRA (Issuer and Senior Unsecured Debt Ratings: BBB/Stable Outlook). GSCR had $11.6 billion of total investments at FV as of 3Q25.
